Calendar:	Change- Please Make Note: Ladies: due to how many girls want to participate this year, we are going to move our meetings to the Tooele Valley View Stake Center (Broadway Ward Bld). We will still have Sewing Labs at the Monsen's Home, but our Tuesday afternoon meetings will be in the Kitchen and a classroom (to be determined). Talk with your parents about what project you are going to sew for the county fair. Remember the criteria: 1. it must be worn on the waist 2. it will have an elastic waistband 3. it must be made with a cotton fabric. So... either a skirt, shorts, or pants (like Pjs) are the projects we are working with. Also start thinking about what details you would like on it: pocket or decorative patch. These will add points when they are judged at the fair. If you are new to 4H remember KISS. Keep-It-Simple-Sister. Don't forget to also talk with your parents on what “sewing lab” time will work best with your family's schedule this summer.			County 4H Activities:
June 8- Cooking- Choice Chocolate Cake and Frosting Sewing- Sewing Equipment and Textiles June 15- Cooking- Spring Fever Salad and Pasta Salad Sewing- Taking Measurements- Choosing a sewing project and the right size of the pattern June 22- No Club Meeting- County 4H Activity- June 29- Cooking- Apple Snapple Oatmeal, Cool & Creamy Fruit Cup, Chocolate French Toast Sewing- Pinning and Cutting out your projects Help! Parents, I need some help with my boys during our meetings. If you are willing to watch them, I would really appreciate it. ~Melissa Monsen				Talent Contest: June 10, 6:30 PM Dance, Vocal, Piano, Instumental, Variety Forms must be turned in by the 9th So.... it is short notice- but we want you to be aware of the opportunity for the girls to participate. http://extension.usu.edu/tooele/htm/4-h (county contest form) Survivor Summer Camp June 22nd , 9 am- 4pm, $7/per person. Forms and money due by June 17th. Parents:Since we are using our own “curriculum” this summer we have been making a lot of copies. If you would like to help pay for these copies we welcome the help, but it is not required. Also, we are asking the girls to have two binders this year. 1 for the girl's cook book (whatever you have on hand) and 1 for their portpholios (white with the clear plastic sleaves). We will be working on the portpholios during our meetings. We will let you know what we need your help with in this regard, during the summer. If this is a burden, we do have a few binders on hand that they are welcome to have.
