Calendar:	An Incredible Summer I wanted to let you all know how amazing this summer has been for me. Each of you, have all come so far in your confidence at sewing and cooking! You have made Linda and I so proud of all you have accomplished. Thank you for your support each week. For coming to sewing labs, so that we could finish your projects, and for sharing the responsibility to bring ingredients to cooking class. I have been pushing you girls to finish your portfolios. I am finding this is a HUGE task, but I would still like you to follow through and work on this year's information. Write your 4H story, write down your projects and about our service project. I want you to remember this summer, and all the fabulous things you have done. I would like to propose that we have a club meeting every few months during the school year. I am suggesting that we find dates in October, January, and March or April, so we can meet and perhaps have lessons in different areas like “Fashion”, “babysitting kits”, and learning the basics to “piece quilting”. Allowing us to pursue more than just cooking lessons and giving you opportunity to do a sewing project on your own/mom's sewing machine. I'd love to hear your ideas. It is such a great feeling to see everything we have planned for the summer come together. The completed sewing projects and the enthusiasm to “get it done”; the participation to use the skills we have learned, to give back to Linda. She helped lay the foundation for our summer activities, and even when she wasn't at our meetings she was there in spirit. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with her and her family. ~Melissa Monsen			Checkoff List:
July 29 (Thurs)- Workshop for Fashion Review 2PM at the Extension (@ the Tooele County Health bld) Deadline for Melissa to Register projects for the Tooele County Fair LOOK at the FAIR ENTRY BOOK & Find more ways to enter into the fair...... July 31 (Sat)- 1-2PM @ the Monsen's Making Club Spotlight poster for the fair, Getting projects together with labels for the Fair- Attendance is OPTIONAL Aug 2 (Mon)- Fashion Review & Interview Judging, (Cooking and Sewing projects are completed!!!!- AND Turned IN!) Melissa will take the projects for those who are not going to the judging, for you.Aug 3 (Tues)- Last 4H activity, Home Made Ice Cream!!! Hand sewing Project- the Fabric Roses--- We will be meeting @ The MONSEN'S home. Aug 6 (Fri)- Fashion show at the fair- 7PM Girls need to be there at 6:15 to get dressed and be prepared. Those who participate will be given Gingher Scissors!!				~Sewing Project Completed ~Flower “Hand Sewn” together, Felt circle to cover the back, a covered button or large button in center ~Cooking project chosen and recipe written down – Bring your project with you Monday OR drop it off to Melissa Monday Morning. ~Those who signed up for the Fashion Revue Judging and/or the Interview Judging for sewing and/or cooking projects will be assigned a time between 1-6 PM. Someone will be in contact with you to let you know when.
